Slam Poetry

Slam Poetry is a type of poem that is performed. It is an outspoken piece of literacy about something you are passionate about. Slam poetry is spoken with a lot of expression. You often speak about a problem, an issue or a love that you can relate to. When performing a normal poem you speak in a soft gentle tone at a slow pace but when performing a slam poem you speak in a loud sharp tone at a fast pace. A slam poem has a lot of descriptive words, describing the inspiration you have taken your poem from. Two things used in a slam poem are alliteration and assonance, these two concepts make your poem more interesting to listen to. When performing the audience is dead silent, taking in every word the poet speaks.
